Online Adjunct Faculty Perceptions of Professional Development to Support Personal and Professional Academic Growth During COVID-19

Objective: The purpose of this study was to understand what online adjunct faculty value as support services, specifically professional development opportunities, provided by their respective higher education institutions. Method: This qualitative narrative inquiry centered on exploring perceptions and experiences members from institutions expectations (PD), prior during COVID-19. Results: resulted in the identification possible improvements enhancements existing PD content that would further personal development, mental health, wellbeing, academic growth. Conclusions: reminds us there are numerous variables, including unforeseen crises such COVID-19 pandemic, need be considered when developing, implementing, presenting for Because want listened heard, implementation process needs interactive faculty, regardless whether university is for-profit or not-for-profit. Implication Practice: results based could lead updating opportunities employed different promote self-actualization ultimately, student success.
